D3.1: Review on the scientific and technical knowledge related to SRM field experiments (DRAFT)

This deliverable synthesises the scientific and technical knowledge underpinning solar radiation modification (SRM) field research. It fulfils WP3’s objectives through two companion manuscripts that together provide a structured review of both past and plausible future SRM field experiments.

This dual approach forms the analytical bridge between the scoping and case study work of WP2 and the forthcoming legal, ethical and governance analyses under WP4 and WP5. The scope of WP3, as defined in the project description, is specifically focused on scientific and technical parameters. Legal, ethical, political and societal dimensions are the dedicated focus of subsequent work packages. They are mentioned here only to establish context or underscore their critical intersection with technical design. The two companion manuscripts in this deliverable have been published in Earth’s Future (AGU):
