Strategic Aspects of SRM Research: Geopolitical Dimensions ‎

22 May | 15:00-16:15 CET / 09:00-10:15 EST

Publicly funded and controlled research may shape how solar radiation modification ‎‎(SRM) is understood as a contested and potentially geopolitically loaded subject. ‎Can research conducted in the European Research Area (ERA) under controlled ‎conditions help prevent problematic activities elsewhere? This seminar explores ‎recent work that considers geopolitics as an important context for SRM research, ‎pointing to risks and uncertainties that merit deeper examination.‎
