This seminar opened the floor to discuss work-in-progress reflections on what we might learn from analogue governance issues for Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) research governance.
The seminar kicked off with a brief introduction to the idea of governance analogues. Next, 3-5 short reflections explored how analogue cases in the forthcoming report might inform SRM research governance and where the limitations of these analogues might be. Several co-authors of the deliverables provided these reflections to prompt discussion on potential insights and limitations. The session examined how political and economic power relations can challenge fair and effective research policy. It closed with an outlook on the forthcoming report and its contribution as part of Co-CREATE’s decision-support tools.
